Shar-Pei fever (amyloidosis) in dogs
An inherited disorder in Shar-Peis causing recurring bouts of fever and swollen, painful hocks. Repeated episodes can lead to a build-up of amyloid protein in the kidneys and liver, which may eventually cause organ failure.
