Can dogs eat ham?

Ham, bacon and other cured meats are not poisonous to dogs, but they are documented as high in salt and fat. That combination is linked to excessive thirst and, with fatty cuts, to a raised risk of pancreatitis. Veterinary sources tend to list processed and cured meats as best kept to very small amounts.
